So this morning I have been a massive data geek in an attempt to work out what the F1 Sky/BBC deal may mean to the overall audience size. Here are my findings:
42% of the UK watch TV which means 21% have pay for TV (or 49.6% of TV viewers).
The number of people that have Sky Sports 1 equates to 66% of pay TV viewers, 32% of TV viewers or 14% of the country.
I got the figures from Wikipedia, Wolframalpha and Sky to work out the percentages.
My maths was very rushed however it is still interesting to see. F1’s move maybe more lucrative for the parties involved however it’s audience will undoubtedly be altered significantly.
